It lowers the marble tile effective. However, I even have three complaints. I needed to replaced the blade that comprises the noticed with a $50 Bosch diamond blade. The blade that embodys the saw is handiest good for ceramic tile (this data is buried within the guide). Second, the rip defend on this saw is very disturbing... it is low-cost piece of plastic and the ends do not fit flush with the cutting table. As a outcome, once I reduce my 12" tile piece... it gets stuck and I must push down on the plastic rip to allow the tile to move on top of it so I can continue the reduce. Third, the guide / direct for this saw isn't very informationrmative. It took us a while to figure out the right way to change the blade (no diagram).
